Life is a transference, an impression of the now on the past. Life on earth is a conditional sculpture, pressed into form by the forces of matter and awareness. Every environment is a product of compounding time, gravity, and consciousness. Each piece is part of the whole, everything is connected, nothing is the same. The scene is a result of all the things that came together to form it and a document of the now. Behavior transfers, spreads and fades as environments change. Environment is a constant gradation though space time.
Below is a collection of wood carvings and prints. These works begin as my drawings and designs, which are carved into various types of wood using a CNC router or with hand tools and then painted. While they stand alone as graphic sculptural reliefs, they can also serve as printmaking blocks. I’ve also included some examples of prints and charcoal rubbings.
The character of nature is peculiar. The wild is pervasive. Like a dream the images are pulled from a field of pure potential.
